- The classes will be conducted in the premises of Kathmandu University, Department of Music.
- The students can use the instruments and equipment available at the Department of Music.
- The fees are payable at the beginning of each semester (three months in one semester including government holidays/summer/winter vacation) and are to be deposited at the University bank account. Fees cannot be refunded, if a student decides to discontinue or causes his/her dismissal. Late fees will be charged as per the University rules.
- Without submitting a ‘fee clearance slip’ from the Department’s administration, students will not be allowed to take any examinations.
- The Department of Music accepts no liability for accidental injury and loss of property sustained on the Department’s premises.
- Students are liable for any damage willfully or negligently caused by them to people, property and/or equipment including furniture, books, and recordings. Students musttreat the historic premises, religious shrines and gardens of the Department with due careand respect. Picking flowers and fruits is strictly forbidden.
- Students will obey special instruction for the use of the library, classrooms, studios, equipment and musical instruments.
- The use of narcotic drugs during class is forbidden.
- Students are expected to assist at University events and public events held by the Department.
- Students are required to attend classes punctually and on a regular basis, i.e. as scheduled. Please note that if students are absent from a class for personal reasons the Department will not substitute the session. In the case of Government/ public holidays, semester end holidays and unforeseen Natural circumstances no classes will be arranged. The Department will be responsible for providing extra classes where cancellation is caused by the absence of the teacher.
- Library/ Studio/ Practice Room/ Classroom: The Students are not allowed to take away, loan or borrow any books and equipment from the Department without permission from the authorized personnel. The students are expected to observe the rules and regulations in using any of these rooms. The students are required to report any lost or damaged books and equipment to the administration.
- Attendance: Students must be present at least 80% of the total number of days in a semester, to fulfill the requirements of the Department of Music. Absences of a student should not exceed the allowed 20% of the total number of days in a semester.
- Students are strictly forbidden to bring political influences inside the music department including but not limited to holding meetings, rallies, bandhas and other strikes, using political clout and making political demands etc.
- The Department will provide all the assistance to each student as per the University’s rules and regulations. The Department will not provide additional assistance that is not in the University rules and regulations.
- The Department is not responsible for ensuring any scholarships, funds, grants or job prospective to the students. Such assistance will be provided only when appropriate.
- Students are required to maintain courtesy and politeness with all the Students, Staff and Faculty members of the Department at all times. Inappropriate behavior and actions will not be accepted.
